Hey there Fyron,
Just letting you know that I'm not trying to be difficult when contributing. I just know that both of us (and hopefully the whole community) would like for the site to be a great resource. I found the site very lacking in information and I want to help, but I do not want to step on any toes. Not only is it lacking in information, but in organization. I say this not to be rude, but to emphasize that it is not what it could be. It is hard to find information, and more importantly, what information is actually present. This is most particularly true of the SEV Manual.
To me, the online manual should be better than a paper manual. To me, it should have a lot of articles. It is supposed to play the role of answering questions, teaching how to perform game tasks, and be a look-up reference all at the same time. These are supplemented by easy to read tables and charts which link directly to them. It may even have a full glossary of terms. The current manual does none of these things. It was obviously made to do them, but there were no sub-categories. And many of the topics don't even have articles. There isn't even a reference for any specific thing. Additionally, it should be more detailed and specific where it needs to be.
Additionally, I originally came onto the site to learn how to mod for SEV. When I clicked the area that said "Modding Tutorials" and it had no tutorials, I was bummed. So I went and learned using the poorly written technical modding manual that came with the game. I just want to help resolve these issues. There are a host of things that new players need to learn to play or mod the game. Some are concepts, some are simple things such as how to more efficiently colonize planets. I'm not trying to force my vision of how the site should be, but with how inactive the site is, I'm finding very little guidance as to what you envision. If you could help me with this, it would be a great boon toward me providing the site with the information it is lacking without you having to worry about whether it is being portrayed in a way that is contradictory to your vision.
Thanks for taking the time, Fuzzical Logic
The SEV manual is indeed rather anemic.. Most of the section article lists were just copied from the SEIV version, with little actual effort to put in info. Given that the SEIV newbie faq/manual never had any subsections for the "research" section, it just carried over.
We are always open to discussion about organizational issues; thus, I posted questions on the talk page rather than just heavy-handedly undid efforts. This is a community effort, and my ramblings shouldn't be taken as decrees from on high. ;) I've posted some links to the discussion on the forums, so hopefully we can get more input and ideas going.

Fyron,
Thanks for your response. It was very uplifting. I was only concerned because in the past there have been disagreements and I want to make sure I'm providing what is both useful and desirable for the community (especially new players). I'm not really that open when writing or "fixing" things. I just go into work mode, so I wanted to make sure that I was not missing anything that should be obvious (which I am prone to do). I will do my best to make better use of the Talk pages.
Donnie
