Neostandard (SEV)
From SEWiki
The Neostandard is a set of expanded hulls intended to provide a common set of models for mods to use as they see fit. By adhering to the neostandard, modders can expand the set of hulls available in their mod, being assured that shipsets will exist with the extras. Shipset Modelers can create extra models to flesh out their creations, being assured that mods will exist to make use of them.
The stock shipsets use 17 models. The stock game has a number of "neostandard" type models called for, but not in general use. They add 17 extra possible models shipset authors can add to their sets and see used in the stock game. The Neostandard adds 6 distinct vehicles, bringing the total to 23 extra models to make for a "complete" Neostandard set. A complete set would have 40 models. If a shipset author chooses not to make the small/medium versions of units, freighters and carriers, but makes a baseship, the total drops to 24.
Since the TopDown Picture Index value has no alternate field, all additional ship hulls should use the same Index as the "Typical Alternate Model." For example, all Fighters should use 13, and the Corvette and Frigate should both use 1.
Following is a list of all vehicle sizes a Neostandard set should include. Within each section, models are listed in order of relative size.
