The Fractal Function is a race of mathematically abstract intelligences that inhabit oxygen gas giants. This shipset was created by Oleg Fedorov.
NOTE: The Fractal Function shipset is not to be confused with the Fractalian shipset.

Biological Description
z=z*z+c. A world fully rearranged as Mandelbrot set. It contains an infinite number of smaller copies of itself. Each one is a sentient being. Ships and units are simple Julia sets based on fractal seeds. There is an infinite number of them as well. Hence, any confrontation with Fractal Function is a pure suicide.
Society Description
Fractal Function society is a complex function which is not analytical. All communications between infinite number of sub-sets can still be described mathematically.
General History Description
The origin is unknown. Mandelbrot set is related to a real world by study of theoretical lattices in the context of magnetic renormalization transformations. It is possible that Fractal Function is a result of some ancient civilization experiment in advanced matter manipulation.
