Colony Tech Mod

Colony Tech Mod is a simple mod for SE4 created by Ed Kolis. Its sole purpose is to prevent the cheesy trading of starting colony techs. This is done in the original version of the mod by means of racial traits: you must pick a racial trait that matches your starting homeworld type (rock, ice, or gas), and only through this racial trait can you research colonization techs. This mod has been incorporated into a number of mods in a variety of forms, including Space Food Empires, Low Tech Mod, and GritEcon. Some of these implementations require racial traits as in the original Colony Tech Mod; others are based on Jon McLeod's Colony Tech Mod 2, which does not require racial traits.
