I suggest renaming this category to simply "FAQ for SEIV", as it will be more than just the Matt's newbie FAQ as it starts to evolve into something more comprehensive. I can make the changes. Before I do, what do others say about it? Remember my mantra: Keep It inSanely Simple inigma 17:13, 3 November 2005 (GMT)

  • Sounds good to me, as long as there is a credit to the original title. Dogscoff 00:19, 4 November 2005 (GMT)
  • I see no problem with preserving "SEIV Newbie FAQ"... This is still its name and purpose. Fyron 00:39, 4 November 2005 (GMT)
  • I'm just trying to work on consistency in the naming conventions. "FAQ for SEIV" or "SEIV Newbie FAQ"? I would hope it's not just a newbie FAQ, but a FAQ that goes much further than what Slick has done. Credit for the original source file, and for Slick and others is already in the FAQ. My point simply being that the FAQ for SEIV was created as FAQ for SEIV and I would hope/expect that the category that it ties into would have the same name...unless of course you don't mind two categories: one for "SEIV Newbie FAQ" (for pages that reference material found on the original newbie FAQ), and then also a new category: "FAQ for SEIV" (for all articles in the FAQ). Does this make sense? inigma 01:44, 4 November 2005 (GMT)
  • What exactly were you planning to add to it? It seems fairly complete to me. Fyron 04:03, 4 November 2005 (GMT)
  • There are a lot of empty and missing sections, information, etc. It is not complete in any way by far. It may be comprehensive, but it's not complete. As such, FAQ for SEIV makes a better generic name since it is expected that it will take on its own expansion into something more than just the Newbie FAQ by Slick. inigma 15:58, 4 November 2005 (GMT)
  • I am not sure how filling in some blank spaces makes it not a newbie FAQ anymore? I think it might be better to not try to lump new things into a bigger FAQ, but rather add them in their own sections. Isn't the FAQ (in total, not just what's added here already) big enough? Fyron 07:27, 5 November 2005 (GMT)
  • It's not big "enough" :) There's a reason why Slick originally kept open blanks for certain sections. Besides, when we finally get the FAQ completely up, I expect to go through it myself and rearrange some things to make it cleaner, neater, and more expansive. In short: FAQ for SEIV, instead of just the Newbie FAQ, but that's just my two cents. My main concern was in simply keeping the category for the FAQ as the same name as the FAQ itself. If you want to change it, feel free, but be sure to update all the page article names, references that link to the FAQ, titles for every FAQ page, and other references outside the FAQ that go with it. Otherwise, I think it's just simpler to just create a FAQ for SEIV category and just leave it at that. inigma 02:38, 7 November 2005 (GMT)
  • Filling in those blanks is precisely what I was talking about... I still don't understand what you want to add to the FAQ that makes it "more expansive" and not the Newbie FAQ. It covers all gameplay related issues already. There are a few unfilled sections here and there, but those are just waiting filling in. "Newbie FAQ" is a historic title that I do not see a need to abandon. All of the current FAQ pages have to be edited again either way, so sticking with "FAQ for SEIV" might not actually be any simpler. Fyron 03:52, 10 November 2005 (GMT)
  • After the newbie faq is ported to the wiki, I think time might be better spent adding new Wiki content, rather than just reorganizing an already well organized set of content (aka the FAQ pages). Fyron 03:52, 10 November 2005 (GMT)
  • On another note... Make sure to credit Slick for uncredited parts of the Newbie FAQ. He wrote everything that is not explicitly credited. Adding (Slick) to the end as with the other credits is quite sufficient. Fyron 03:52, 10 November 2005 (GMT)
