Art of Illusion .X Exporter An Art of Illusion plugin written by Ed Kolis which exports to the DirectX .X format used by Starfury and SE5. It is the first Art of Illusion plugin to support "baking" of 3D textures, albeit in a primitive form - all triangles in the exported mesh are assigned the same size and shape triangles in the UV-mapped texture, no matter their original size or shape.
Unzip downloaded zip file somewhere. Copy the exportX.jar file in the unzipped folder to your ArtOfIllusion\Plugins directory. Restart Art of Illusion if it was already running. Use the File|Export|DirectX menu option to export.
Known bugs in version 1.3
- 3D textures (and possibly layered textures) will not export properly from boolean (CSG) objects.
- 3D textures (and possibly layered textures) will not export properly from subdivision surfaces.
