General information : The Arkonians are a fictional humanoid species from the Star Trek Universe. The shipset was developed by Black_Knyght from a slightly modified version of Atrocities' Xurian shipset, with select custom images added as needed. It can be found at SE-IV Play-by-Web

Biological Description  : Arkonians are large, reptilian humanoids from a harsh world. They have scaly, hairless grey skin and spiny ridges on either side of their head. They do not have sweat glands, and their bodies' hydration system is not based on water. They can cauterize wounds with their corrosive saliva, which has healing properties and can quickly repair minor injuries. Their cellular structure is not capable of handling rapid temperature changes.

Society Description  : Arkonians are a strongly militaristic and somewhat xenophobic race. They have an extremely suspicious nature, and tend to be distrustful and gruff towards outsiders. An appointed General, who serves as both supreme military commander and civil leader to the Arkonians, rules them.

General History Description  : The Arkonians achieved interstellar spaceflight capability early in their development. They soon made first contact with the Vulcans, but it wasn't incredibly successful. The Arkonians proved to be too suspicious and difficult, and the Vulcans soon withdrew contact with them. For more than a century after that, the Arkonians and the Vulcans had rocky relations. Arkonian starship Captains would be wary of any ship that even had a single Vulcan on it. The Arkonians eventually made first contact with Humanity. This time was more successful, though it did have its own complications. The Arkonians have a natural tendency to be gruff, distrustful, and deceitful, and are prone to a "Shoot first and ask questions later" frame of mind.
